1.1 All bookings require a non-refundable deposit of €50 at the time of booking. Where the total booking value is less than €50, the full amount is payable at the time of booking.
1.2 Any balances must be paid for on arrival. Pitches must be vacated by 12 noon on the day of departure. Check-in time is after 1pm for site and 3pm for glamping.
1.3 Following your booking and confirmed deposit or balance payment you will receive a receipt confirming your payment. Please bring your booking receipt when checking in at reception.
1.4 No refunds are given for departing early or arriving late.
2.1 The €50 deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances. It may be transferred to another date only at our discretion.
2.2 Where you cancel and give us at least 7 days’ notice, the balance payment will be refunded. Where less than 7 days’ notice is given, no refund of the balance will be made.
2.3 Failure to arrive without a satisfactory explanation or written cancellation does not entitle you to a refund or a transfer of stay.
2.4 In exceptional circumstances where the cancellation is beyond your control, we may consider deferring your booking to another available date in the same season. This is at the discretion of the Park Manager. Examples may include, but are not limited to: bereavement of an immediate family member; severe Government weather warnings requiring the Park to close.
2.5 The following are not grounds for a refund or deferral: car, caravan or motorhome breakdown; rain, “bad weather”, or weather warnings (Government or otherwise) that do not require closure of the Park; changes to your travel plans due to other commitments, for example communions, confirmations or weddings.
2.6 We cannot accept responsibility or pay compensation for circumstances beyond our control, including (but not limited to) industrial disputes, natural disasters, fire, technical problems, bad weather and acts of government.
3.1 After you have paid your deposit or balance you may wish to change some element of your stay, for example the type of accommodation or the duration. We will try to meet your request but cannot guarantee it.
3.2 If it becomes necessary to cancel your break due to illness, accident or a change of circumstances, we cannot guarantee a full refund, but we will endeavour to come to an arrangement with you.
4.1 Pricing errors. Despite our best efforts, it is possible that a holiday may be incorrectly priced. In that event we will contact you and give you the option to either pay the correct price to retain your booking, or cancel your booking and receive a full refund.
4.2 Alterations. We try very hard to provide all facilities as advertised on our website. It may, however, be necessary to make alterations in advance of your stay. Where a change is necessary we will endeavour to advise you in writing as soon as possible.
4.3 Cancellation by us. We always endeavour not to change the date of, or cancel, your booking, but in exceptional circumstances this may be necessary. We will inform you as soon as possible and offer you the following options: (A) accept the alternative arrangements as notified to you; (B) choose another available break from us at the advertised price; or (C) cancel your booking and receive a full refund of all monies paid.
5.1 Any person parking a caravan or motorhome, or erecting a tent or awning, on the property of the Park does not acquire any interest, licence or tenancy of any description by reason of their occupation.
5.2 Pitches are allocated by us. It is expressly prohibited to move to another pitch without our permission. While we will try to reserve the pitch booked, for operational reasons it may occasionally be necessary to move your booking to an alternative pitch.
5.3 A caravan, tent or awning must be moved at any time on our request. The only compensation payable in such circumstances is a refund of any unused advance charges.
5.4 Where we consider it necessary, caravans and motorhomes should be brought up to an acceptable standard of presentation.
5.5 The Park and its facilities are intended for holidaymakers. No commercial vehicles are permitted on site.
5.6 We reserve the right to refuse entry to any person, and to decline or terminate the booking of any guest or party whose make-up or behaviour interferes, or may interfere, with the general comfort of other guests. In that event no refund will be made.
The person making the booking is responsible for the conduct of their party. It is your responsibility to read these rules and to ensure that every member of your party accepts them. Not having read the rules is not an excuse for breaching them. Failure to disclose relevant information or to comply with these terms may lead to termination of your booking without refund, and we reserve the right to ban individuals from future use of the Park.
6.1 Children and water safety. Children remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times. The site has open waterways, a harbour, quay and moorings. It is particularly important that you always know where your children are and that you supervise them at all times. No person under the age of 18 may use the Park unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Children must be accompanied by an adult to the facilities block at all times. Children are not allowed into the pub unsupervised. The pub operates under its own terms and licensing hours.
6.2 Noise and nuisance. Users of the Park must not cause a nuisance to us or to any other person using the Park. Quiet time is from 11pm to 7am. Strictly no noise after 11pm. Radios, music systems, televisions, speakers and phones must be kept at a reasonable volume at all times.
6.3 Vehicles and parking. No vehicle may be parked so as to cause an obstruction. One vehicle permitted on site per pitch; any extra vehicle will incur a charge of €5 per night and may have to park outside the park gates at the vehicle owner’s own risk.
6.4 Litter and waste. The area around each caravan, motorhome, awning and tent must be kept clean and free from litter at all times. A container must be placed under the waste pipe of each caravan. Please use the bins provided. Holes must not be dug for refuse, caravan waste, or for any other reason. Bringing waste from home or from previous travels is strictly forbidden and may result in immediate expulsion from the Park. Large items such as broken chairs, tables, tents, mattresses, awnings, rugs, clothing and dog beds must be disposed of off site and are not permitted in our bins.
6.5 Tents, awnings and additional structures. Tents may be erected only in the allocated area of the Park. Tent pitches are charged per tent size — a 2-man tent or a 4-man tent, each including two people; additional persons are €5 per night. Awnings are subject to an additional charge of €5 per night and must be booked at the time of booking. The same applies to sun shades, drive-away awnings, shelters or any other additional structure erected on your pitch. An awning is a purpose-made structure that attaches to a caravan, motorhome or campervan. A tent pitched beside a caravan, campervan or motorhome is not an awning and is not permitted; it is a separate booking. Gazebos are permitted on the site, subject to approval and an additional charge of €5 per night. Awnings and similar structures may only be erected while you are in residence and are erected at your own risk. They may be left up for a maximum of one week at a time, to allow the grass to recover.
6.6 Fires and barbecues. Campfires are permitted only in a firepit raised off the ground. No fires or barbecues of any kind may be placed directly on the grass or on picnic benches. Barbecues, including disposable barbecues, must be raised off the grass and never left unattended. Please allow them to cool fully before disposing of them safely.
6.7 Dogs and other animals. The Park is dog friendly. Any animal brought to the Park must be kept under proper control and supervision at all times, and dogs must be kept on a lead. Dogs are not permitted in the pods or cabins (see 7.9). Dog fouling must be picked up and disposed of appropriately. We do not accept the following breeds, or strains or crosses of them: bull terrier, bull mastiff, Dobermann pinscher, German shepherd (Alsatian), Rhodesian ridgeback, Rottweiler, Japanese Akita, Japanese Tosa and ban dog.
6.8 Visitors. All visiting guests must check in at reception first.
Sections 1 to 6 apply to glamping bookings as well as to pitches. The following additional terms apply to the pods and cabins.
7.1 Deposit and payment. Glamping bookings are subject to the deposit and balance terms in Section 1. Minimum 2-night stay required for glamping bookings.
7.2 Arrival and departure. Check-in is from 3pm on the day of arrival. Pods and cabins must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure. Late departure may be charged for.
7.3 Occupancy. Your pod or cabin may only be occupied by the number of people stated on your booking, and never by more than the maximum for that unit. The eco-pods sleep a maximum of 2; the two stilted cabins sleep a maximum of 6. Units are allocated by us according to party size; specific units cannot be reserved. Additional guests may not stay overnight. We are not able to provide travel cots or extra beds, and a cot brought by you counts towards the maximum occupancy of the unit.
7.4 What is provided. Bed linen, electricity, heating (electric heaters in the pods, wood-burning stoves in the cabins), a kettle, plates and delph are provided. The pods and cabins do not have a fridge or cooking facilities. Please bring your own towels, and anything you need for cooking and keeping food cool.
7.5 Keys. Keys must be returned to the postbox located at the glamping site on departure. A charge applies for lost keys.
7.6 Smoking and flames. Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside any pod or cabin. Candles, incense, oil burners, disposable barbecues, fire pits and any other naked flame are not permitted inside or on the decking of a pod or cabin.
7.7 Cooking. Gas stoves, camping stoves, portable heaters and barbecues of any kind may not be used inside a pod or cabin or on its decking. Disposable barbecues are welcome outside, provided they are raised off the grass and never left unattended. Please allow them to cool fully and dispose of them safely — not in the bins while still warm.
7.8 Damage and cleaning. Pods and cabins are inspected after each stay. You are responsible for any damage, breakage or loss during your stay, and for the cost of additional cleaning where the unit is left in an unreasonable condition. We reserve the right to charge the pre-authorised card on file for any loss or damage.
7.9 Dogs. Dogs and other animals are not permitted in the pods or cabins, or on their decking, at any time. Dogs are welcome on the touring pitches under 6.7.
7.10 Tents and structures. Tents, awnings, gazebos and other structures may not be erected beside a pod or cabin. Parking is limited to the space allocated to your unit.
7.11 Please leave your pod or cabin secure when you are away from it. Section 8 applies to your belongings.
8.1 Anyone defacing or causing damage to any building, equipment or property of the Park faces immediate eviction and prosecution.
8.2 The person who books a pitch, pod or cabin is responsible for, and will be charged for, any damage, breakage or loss caused by themselves, their party or their visitors to that pitch or unit, to any Park facility, or to another customer’s property.
8.3 We are not responsible for any injury, loss or damage caused to the property of Park users, whether by our negligence or otherwise. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, it is a condition of your booking that all caravans, motorhomes, tents and awnings, together with all cars and other vehicles, are placed on the property of the Park at the exclusive risk of their owners, servants or agents.
8.4 Your personal belongings, vehicles, vans, accessories and their contents are left at your own risk. Customers must ensure that their property is secured and fully insured against any unforeseen eventuality.
Any person failing to comply with these rules will be obliged to leave. If they refuse to leave, we reserve the right to remove that person’s property from the Park, without prejudice to the legal remedies available to us for breach of these conditions and in particular without prejudice to our right to damages.
10.1 The information taken at the time of booking is collected for the purpose of processing your booking at Beirne’s of Battlebridge.
10.2 As part of our ongoing promotion of the Park, we may contact you about late availability, news and offers that may be of interest to you.
10.3 We may also disclose your data to CampStead Ltd, who may contact you by email inviting you to complete a questionnaire and review regarding your stay.
10.4 If you do not wish to receive marketing communications from us, please email beirnesbattlebridge@gmail.com.
By booking a pitch, pod or cabin you agree to abide by these terms and conditions and the Park information. We look forward to welcoming you to Beirne’s of Battlebridge and hope you enjoy your stay.
